Want Unthread to show up with a different name in Slack? You can rename the Unthread bot directly from your Slack app configuration.

This will update the bot name that members see when Unthread sends messages in your Slack workspace.

    Renaming the Bot

To change the Unthread bot name in Slack:

    1. Open Slack’s Installed Apps page for your workspace.

ℹ️ You can also go directly to: https://app.slack.com/apps-manage/<workspace-id>/integrations/installed

    2. Search for Unthread.

    3. Click into the Unthread app, then select App Details.

    4. Go to the Configuration tab.

    5. Scroll down to the section labeled Bot User.

    6. Click Edit.

    7. Enter the new bot name, then save your changes.

That’s it! The Unthread bot will now appear with the updated name in Slack.

    Can’t Edit the Bot User?

If you don’t see the option to edit the bot user, you may not have permission to manage apps in Slack. Ask a Slack Workspace Owner, Admin, or app manager to make the change for you.
